APEX MOTORWORKS · JUPITER, FL · EST 2004

Twenty-two years of one rule: the car in front of us deserves our full attention.

Apex Motorworks was founded in 2004 by a former Porsche master technician who decided he'd rather work on six cars a week properly than forty poorly. The shop has grown since, but the rule hasn't. We still never service more cars than we can give real attention. We still take photos of every job. We still answer the phone when you call.

A specialist shop is a different thing than a dealer.

Rick Halloran spent fourteen years as a master technician at Champion Porsche in Pompano Beach before starting Apex. He watched the dealership model work against the work — cars flowing through the shop on a flat-rate clock, technicians rewarded for speed, service advisors selling jobs that weren't strictly necessary and skipping ones that were. The work was fine. But it was production-line work on cars that had never been production-line anything.

In 2004 he took a small bay in a warehouse complex off Indiantown Road with one lift, a Porsche PIWIS tester, and a waiting list of eleven customers who'd followed him out of Champion. The shop has grown four times since — to the current 14,000 square-foot facility on Jupiter Park Drive — but the model hasn't changed. We service cars we know, on our schedule, to our standard. We say no to work we can't do right. We document everything.

Rick still owns the shop. He's in the building most days, usually working on a personal project in Bay 4 — currently a 1973 911 RS tribute build that's been his off-hours obsession since 2019. If you visit and he's there, say hello.

Four non-negotiables.

These aren't marketing points. They're the reason we still have clients who brought cars in 2004 and have brought every car since.

01

OEM parts, OEM fluids, OEM procedures.

Every job uses the exact parts and fluids the factory specifies. No "equivalent" fluids, no aftermarket filters, no "close enough" substitutions. The factory engineered the car. We service it the way they engineered it to be serviced. If a client specifically requests an upgrade, we discuss it — but the default is always factory-correct.

02

Flat quotes. No surprise invoices.

Every job starts with a written quote. The quote stands unless we find something that requires scope change, in which case we stop work and call you. No exceptions, no "while we were in there" add-ons that double the invoice. This is how we've always worked. It's also why we sleep well.

03

Every job is photographed and documented.

Every car that comes through this shop gets a photo record of work performed — before, during, and after. Part numbers are logged. Torque values are logged. Fluid brands and batch numbers are logged. When you sell the car in ten years, you can hand the next owner a service binder that reads like a restoration document.

04

We decline work we can't do properly.

We turn away two or three cars a week. Not because we don't want the work, but because we won't do work we don't have the certification, tooling, or parts-supply chain to execute correctly. When we decline a job, we tell you who to call. Usually that's Canepa or one of two shops in South Florida we trust.

Five people. Nine factory certifications. Every job has someone's name on it.

We're a small shop on purpose. Every car gets a lead technician assigned at intake — the same person who does the work also signs the invoice. You can ask for that technician by name when you call. This is how it worked at good dealerships in 1982, and it's the correct way to run a service shop.

Twenty-two years, four moves, one belief.

The shop has grown gradually. We've moved four times, each time to handle a specific need — more storage, a paint booth, climate control, eventually the current facility. We still service the same families of cars, many from the same original clients.

2004

Founded in a 1,600-square-foot bay on Indiantown Road

One lift. One PIWIS tester. Eleven clients who followed Rick out of Champion Porsche. First car serviced: a 1999 996 Carrera 4 for a client who still owns it.

2009

Moved to a 4,000-square-foot facility in Jupiter Farms

Added Marco DiStefano and began Ferrari service. First restoration commission: a 1987 328 GTB for a Wellington client. Waiting list to become a service client reached six months.

2016

James Whitfield joined from Rolls-Royce Palm Beach

Expanded into British marques. Moved to an 8,000-square-foot facility in Abacoa with dedicated paint booth. Began concours preparation program.

2020

Elena Ruiz joined from McLaren Woking

Only MSO-certified tech in Palm Beach County. Added hypercar program. Began on-site storage service with initial eight-stall climate-controlled wing.

2023

Current Jupiter Park Drive facility opens

14,000 square feet, purpose-built. 22 storage stalls, six service bays, dedicated detail shop, client waiting suite. Apex Club launched the following quarter.
