Bespoke motoring. Heritage preserved.
Factory-certified Rolls-Royce and Bentley service in Palm Beach County — the only shop between Miami and Orlando with current credentials on post-2018 Spirit of Ecstasy mechanisms and Mulliner-approved veneer coordination. Our British work is led by James Whitfield, twenty-nine years in the marque, including eight at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Palm Beach.
British cars don't drive. They carry.
A Rolls-Royce or a Bentley is engineered around a philosophy we think about every time we touch one: the occupants should feel nothing of the road. Not the expansion joints. Not the camber changes. Not the shift from highway to gravel. Not, heaven forbid, a draft from an ill-fitted door seal. This is a completely different engineering brief than anything German or Italian, and it requires a completely different service approach.
Everything we do on a British car is oriented around preserving that isolation — the hydraulic engine mounts, the active air suspension, the laminated glass, the veneer damping, the bespoke electrical systems, the acoustic baffling. One worn engine mount on a Ghost ruins what the car was engineered to deliver. We take that seriously.
"The first time a customer's Phantom sounds different after service, you've failed. They won't hear it as new-noise. They'll hear it as wrong-noise. And wrong-noise ends the relationship."
The Goodwood generation.
We service every current-generation Rolls-Royce built since BMW Group's Goodwood launch in 2003 — Phantom (VII and VIII), Ghost (I and II), Wraith, Dawn, Cullinan, and the all-electric Spectre. Our PBC client inventory skews heavily Ghost II, Cullinan, and Phantom VIII, which is to say the cars most Palm Beach owners actually drive.
James Whitfield spent eight years as senior technician at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Palm Beach before coming to us. He took his certifications with him. As far as we can determine, he is the only technician in Palm Beach County who currently holds credentials to service post-2018 Spirit of Ecstasy retraction mechanisms in-house — most independent shops outsource this work, and most clients don't want their car sent anywhere.

The Crewe generation.
Continental GT (all three generations, W12 and V8), Flying Spur, Bentayga, Mulsanne, and the Mulliner-series cars. Our Bentley work covers the whole model range, but we do see more Continentals than anything else in Palm Beach — typically the GTC convertibles, which live a demanding life in the salt air and deserve matched care.
Bentley service is half mechanical, half bespoke. The mechanical side is largely VW Group engineering we know well (ODIS diagnostics, 4.0L V8, 6.0L W12, ZF 8HP transmission, air suspension), but the bespoke side is where most dealers struggle — Mulliner veneer refinishing, hand-stitched leather panel replacement, Naim audio system service, and the hundreds of personalization options that Crewe builds into these cars. We coordinate all of it.

Every current-generation car, serviced in-house.
Complete model coverage for both marques from the Goodwood/Crewe relaunch through current production. For pre-2003 Rolls-Royce (SZ, Arnage, pre-Goodwood) and pre-2003 Bentley (Arnage, Azure, Continental R), we coordinate with a specialist restoration partner in Georgia — ask James about it.
Rolls-Royce
Bentley
Four things only we do in this county.
Most shops can do oil and brakes on a Rolls-Royce. These are the jobs that separate credentialed British technicians from everyone else — the work we're known for, and the work that brings cars to us from Vero Beach, Naples, and Miami.
Post-2018 Spirit of Ecstasy retraction service
Rolls-Royce changed the retraction mechanism in 2018 to a fully-sensored unit requiring Chorus II diagnostic coordination for removal, service, or sensor recalibration. Most independent shops send the car out for this work. We do it on bench in-house, typically one day.
> CHORUS II · SENSOR CAL · OEM GREASE · 1-YR WARRANTYMulliner veneer refinishing program
Our refinishing partner (a Bentley-approved specialist in Pennsylvania) handles the actual refinishing. We handle the rest — panel removal without damaging the factory adhesive, crate-and-ship logistics, hardware preservation, reinstallation with factory-correct torque and mounting, and complete documentation for the owner's records.
> MULLINER-APPROVED · DOCUMENTED · CHAIN-OF-CUSTODYNaim audio system service
Bentley's top-tier audio system uses Naim components with factory-specific calibration. We're trained on the 1,920W and 2,200W systems across Continental, Flying Spur, and Bentayga. Includes amplifier service, speaker diagnostic, and the proprietary calibration procedure that restores factory acoustic performance after any interior work.
> NAIM CERTIFIED · FACTORY CALIBRATION · ACOUSTIC DIAGNOSTICFull air suspension refresh (Phantom, Ghost, Cullinan, Bentayga)
All current-generation British luxury cars ride on air suspension. Every system will eventually require compressor replacement, strut service, and accumulator maintenance. We stock OEM units for Phantom VIII, Ghost II, Cullinan, Bentayga, and Continental GT — same-week service on these components instead of the 4-6 week wait at the dealer.

These are the jobs that come through the British bench most often. Pricing is indicative — exact figures depend on model, year, and condition. Send James a VIN and he'll quote accurately.
Ghost II / Continental GT annual service
Full minor service to factory interval — oil and filter, cabin and engine air filters, brake fluid check and top-up, tire rotation with torque verification, 60-point inspection, Chorus II or ODIS diagnostic scan, battery health test, fluid level check across all systems.
Phantom VIII major service
Full factory-scheduled major — OEM oil and filter, spark plugs (all 12), cabin air filter, engine air filter, brake fluid flush, transmission fluid service, 120-point inspection, complete Chorus II scan with module report, alignment check, battery service, documented photo record.
Air suspension compressor replacement
OEM compressor for Phantom VIII, Ghost II, Cullinan, Bentayga, or Continental GT. Includes pressure-test of the full air-ride system, strut-pressure verification, ride-height calibration, and module coding. We stock compressors for all four platforms.
Naim system diagnostic & calibration
Full Naim audio system evaluation for Continental, Flying Spur, or Bentayga. Speaker test at all 16-22 positions depending on model, amplifier diagnostic, proprietary calibration procedure, component replacement if required.
Mulliner burr walnut refinish (dash & doors)
Full removal, shipment to Mulliner-approved partner, complete refinish with period-correct stain and lacquer, and reinstallation to factory torque. Covers typical Continental dash plus four door panels. Documented with before/after photos and refinisher's certificate.

Full engine-out service on first and second-generation Continental — coil packs (all 12), spark plugs, turbo inspection, water pump, thermostat, timing chain inspection, gasket refresh. Critical service for Gen 1 W12 cars that have exceeded 80,000 miles.
Pre-purchase inspection (Rolls-Royce or Bentley)
Written 180-point inspection with Chorus II or ODIS scan-tool history, compression and leak-down baseline, paint depth measurement, interior and bespoke-trim authenticity review, undercarriage photographic documentation, matching-numbers verification for collector-grade cars.
All British work passes across James Whitfield's bench.
James trained at City & Guilds in the UK before eight years at Jack Barclay in London — Mayfair's oldest Rolls-Royce and Bentley dealership, established 1927. He emigrated in 2008 and spent eight years at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Palm Beach as senior technician before joining Apex in 2016.
He is the only factory-credentialed British technician at Apex, and every Rolls-Royce or Bentley that comes through this shop has his signature on the work order. Same name on intake, diagnosis, repair, and final inspection. Same person you'll talk to on the phone if a concern arises six months later.

A few honest observations for British owners.
On W12 coil packs.
If you own a Gen I or Gen II Continental (2003-2018) and your check-engine light just came on, there's about a seventy-percent chance it's a coil pack. The factory used a weak coil that fails in pairs or triples over time. Replace them all at once with updated-spec coils — don't chase individual cylinders. The labor to pull the manifold twice costs more than the full coil-pack set. We've had this conversation three times this month.
On Phantom VII air struts.
First-generation Goodwood Phantom air struts age in the Florida humidity. If your Phantom is starting to sag on one corner overnight, that's the strut giving up — not the compressor. We stock replacement struts and can do the work in a day. If you've started running the compressor constantly to maintain height, you're also heating the compressor toward its end-of-life. Do both now, not sequentially.
On Bentayga body-roll.
The Bentayga's 48-volt active anti-roll system is the best in the industry when working correctly, and a nightmare when a single actuator fails. The codes from ODIS look identical whether the problem is the front or rear actuator — but the fix cost differs by $3,000 depending on which one. We've developed a non-destructive diagnostic routine to identify the failed unit before disassembly. It's saved several clients a second surgery bill.
On sourcing a used Rolls or Bentley.
If you're considering a used Rolls-Royce or Bentley over $100,000, please get a pre-purchase inspection. We've found cars with undocumented flood history, ones where the Mulliner personalization had been partially replaced with aftermarket parts, one that turned out not to match the VIN on the title. Our collector-grade inspection runs $2,400-$5,400 and has saved clients from million-dollar mistakes. It is the cheapest insurance in the automotive world.
Let's talk about your car.
Whether it's a scheduled service, a bespoke project, or a pre-purchase inspection on a car you're considering, send us a note and James will reach out personally.
